Providing A Beautiful Lifestyle At Tri-Star Estates

Hello my name is Linda Quam and I started in this industry in the early 90’s. At that time living in the influent North Shore, manufactured homes were the most affordable way folks could get into a single family home without paying an arm and a leg. I noticed that my clients were telling me stories of how they were slowly moving out of Chicago and heading to the suburbs but they were shocked at the cost it would take to live the suburban life style.

The community I started selling manufactured homes in is very similar to the property I am selling in now, they have beautiful amenities like swimming pools, resort caliper club houses, playgrounds for children etc. It is like living on a resort with all kinds of fun activities. I would sit down with folks and custom order a home for them based on the square feet they were looking for, and how many bedrooms and bathrooms they would like. The clients loved the fact they could order a home and choose their own colors. Some of the special home features they would like were a fireplace, whirlpool tub, skylights, built in book cases, etc. I started to get a feel for what people were looking for and then I started ordering homes with those features. They were selling like hot cakes!

I loved to see the families I was selling homes to in the community enjoying this new life style. The kids were so happy from coming out of cramped up apartments from the city of Chicago. You really could see the excitement in their eyes, it was like it was their birthday every day. I was also raising my own children in these manufactured home communities, and they were playing with the same kids I just sold homes to with their families.

I have been selling manufactured homes for close to 30 years now, and the folks often wonder what made me stay in this line of work for so long, and I tell them this work is so rewarding. I get to see folks get a piece of the American Dream home ownership at its finest. Folks tell me living in a manufactured home community is truly something special and I agree. The residents are so humble and work hard for their money. They want to be able to give their kids a better life with all the finer things manufactured home communities have to offer. The freedom to be able to ride a bike or play at a playground. I see them smile at me all the time and that is why I say this is a very rewarding way to make a living. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
